ISGJ and Medhavi Skills University Collaborate to Launch India’s First Industry-Integrated UG/PG Programs in Gems & Jewellery!

Exciting news for the Indian gems and jewellery sector! The International School of Gems & Jewellery (ISGJ) has partnered with Medhavi Skills University (MSU) to launch India’s first work-integrated undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs in Jewellery Design & Manufacturing (JD&M).

A Collaborative Effort for a Skilled Future

This landmark collaboration signifies a significant step towards advancing skill-based higher education in the industry. By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MSU, a leader in skill-based education, ISGJ prioritizes industry involvement throughout the learning process. This ensures graduates possess the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical expertise demanded by modern jewellery design and manufacturing.

Addressing the Skill Gap with Industry-Aligned Courses

To bridge the current skill gap and cater to the evolving needs of the sector, the collaboration offers industry-aligned BBA and MBA programs in JD&M. These programs are specifically designed to provide students with in-depth industry knowledge and hands-on experience through the unique Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) framework.

The AEDP integrates classroom learning with practical experience in real-world industry settings. This approach equips students with a well-rounded skillset, preparing them to excel in the dynamic world of jewellery design and manufacturing.

A Partnership for Innovation and Excellence

This collaboration brings together the best of both worlds: ISGJ’s established expertise in gemstone and jewellery craftsmanship and MSU’s innovative approach to skill-based education. As stated by Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor of MSU, “the MSU-ISGJ alliance… is creating innovative programs that integrate industry and academia to drive the sector’s growth and success.”

Mr. Kalpesh Desai, Founder & CEO of ISGJ, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the program’s potential to nurture a new generation of talent. He said, “This program represents a powerful fusion of ISGJ’s deep expertise… and MSU’s forward-thinking approach… Together, we aim to nurture a new generation of designers and professionals who will carry forward India’s rich heritage…”

A New Chapter for Skill Development

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Indian gems and jewellery industry. Dr. Sajeev Kumar, Vice President of MSU, emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and skill development, stating, “This MoU marks a new chapter in MSU’s commitment… The gems and jewelry sector has always been a significant part of India’s heritage, and with this partnership, we aim to provide our students with unparalleled learning opportunities…”
