The 8th edition of the Artisan Jewellery Design Awards, powered by GIA, concluded its final jury round today 16th January at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Over the course of the day, the distinguished jury panel, comprising Dr. Usha Balakrishnan, Eminent Jewellery Historian; Mr. Jay Sagar, Jewellery Specialist, Astaguru Auction House; Ms. Priya Tanna, President @trscreativeconsulting and Ex-Editor-In-Chief, Vogue India; Mr. Apurva Kothari, Founding Partner of SAVAAB; and Ms. Shachee Shah, Founder & Creative Head, Shachee Fine Jewellery, meticulously examined 20 exquisite jewellery pieces.
This year’s theme, “Indian Crafts Reimagined”, challenged designers to reinterpret traditional Indian crafts in contemporary jewellery. The jury carefully evaluated each piece, assessing factors such as innovation, design aesthetics, makeability, manufacturing, wearability and overall relevance in relation to the theme.
Organised by GJEPC, the Artisan Jewellery Design Awards continues to provide a valuable launchpad for aspiring designers, offering them a platform to showcase their talent and gain recognition within the industry. These 20 unique creations were brought to life from the design illustrations submitted earlier, showcasing the transformative journey of concepts into tangible works of art.
