To tackle this, key industry stakeholders have come together to launch a pilot training program focused on gemstone cutting and polishing. The initiative aims to train 25 selected candidates and equip them with essential skills for the growing global demand.

The collaboration includes the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ) Jaipur, Jewellers Association Jaipur (JAJ), Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association (SGJIA), and the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS). These organizations are working together to provide top-tier training and financial support for the program.

The Pilot Training Program

The program’s primary goal is to provide comprehensive training in gemstone cutting and polishing. Trainees will be selected based on their passion and dedication, with the IIGJ Jaipur leading the training. JAJ will sponsor the raw materials, while JJS will cover the training fees and offer stipends to the participants.
