The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) held its 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23 September 2026 at Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mumbai, in a hybrid format.
Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, presided over the meeting, with key Council officials and members in attendance both in person and virtually.
During the AGM, the Council reviewed its FY2025-26 performance and industry priorities.
Gem & Jewellery Exports
The Council reported total gem and jewellery exports of US$27.72 billion for FY2025-26.
Growth was highlighted in key markets, including the UAE, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada and France, with strong demand for studded gold, silver and platinum jewellery.
Expanding Global Access
The Council reviewed expanding global access through:
- Four FTAs signed with the UK, EU, Oman and New Zealand.
- UAE CEPA.
- Australia ECTA.
The Council noted that these agreements offer zero or near-zero duty access in key markets.
Stronger Market Reach
The AGM reviewed several initiatives undertaken during the year, including:
- SAJEX 2025
- India–UK Buyer-Seller Meet
- India–Riyadh Studded Jewellery BSM
- IIJS Bharat
The Council also noted first-time delegations from Kazakhstan and Vietnam.
Building for the Future
The Council reviewed ongoing focus areas, including:
- JewelStart
- Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC
- India Jewellery Park Mumbai
- New e-commerce and hand-carry frameworks
The Council also reported that membership rose to 10,910.

During the AGM, the Council confirmed the following decisions:
- Audited financial statements for FY2025-26 were adopted.
- CNK & Associates LLP was proposed as statutory auditors for five years.
- 10 Directors’ appointments were regularised.
