Japanese Consulate General Mr. Yagi Koji Visits Bharat Diamond Bourse to Boost Bilateral Ties

Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) was honored to host His Excellency Mr. Yagi Koji, Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai, along with Ms. Ohori Keina Vice-Consul of Japan in Mumbai and Ms. Leila Kazi – Specialist Economic Affairs, Economic Advisor from the Japanese Consulate, in Mumbai. The visit, aimed at fostering stronger economic ties and cultural exchange between Japan and India, marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations.

During the visit, Mr. Anoop Mehta, President of the Bharat Diamond Bourse & Mr. Mehul Shah Vice President of Bharat Diamond Bourse, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized the longstanding partnership between the diamond industries of Japan and India. Discussions revolved around mutual interests in enhancing trade opportunities, exploring new avenues for collaboration, and leveraging technological advancements in the diamond sector.

“We are delighted to host His Excellency Mr. Yagi Koji along with Ms. Ohori Keina and Ms. Leila Kazi from the Japanese Consulate, reaffirming the deep-rooted friendship and commercial bonds between our nations,” said Mr. Mehul Shah. “Their visit underscores the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation in our shared pursuit of economic growth in diamonds & Jewellery expats from India to Japan. “Mr. Koji with acknowledgement said to invite the trade delegations on both the sides to grow bilateral business of Diamond & Jewellry.

”The delegation was given a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art facilities at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, showcasing its role as a global hub for diamond trading and manufacturing. They also engaged in productive discussions with industry leaders and stakeholders, exploring avenues to further streamline trade processes and promote sustainable practices within the diamond sector.

The visit concluded with a ceremonial exchange of tokens of appreciation and goodwill, symbolizing the commitment to strengthen bilateral economic ties and cultural understanding between Japan and India.
