Gemstones, an inseparable part of fine jewellery, need astute attention and examination from the mine to the market. Sensing this need, Gemological Science International (GSI), a leading global gemological lab, recently conducted a specialised seminar titled ‘Introduction to Gemstones & Diamonds’ for EISH by Anand Jewels in Indore.
Led by Deepa Srinivasa, Chief Gemologist, GSI India, the session emphasized the need for in- depth understanding the basics of diamonds and beyond its 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight), empowering participants to elevate their engagement with customers. The EISH team, through this seminar, received a deep dive into the history of diamonds, their journey from mines to market, and a broader knowledge of global diamond sources. Additionally, they learned to appreciate the key attributes of coloured gemstones, allowing them to better communicate the intricate value of each piece to their customers.
The educational seminar addressed modern jewellery trends while also focusing on practical aspects such as gemstone care and maintenance, which equipped their sales staff with know-how about customer behaviour and product preferences. Adding to this thorough corporate training programme was a session on sales techniques, inspiring the entire team of EISH to engage in more insightful sales interactions and ultimately convert high-value clients faster.
