Bharat Diamond Bourse announced the second edition of its globally acclaimed “Leadership Series” to be held in Mumbai. The “Leadership Series will be organised from the 22nd of to 24th of September 2025. Gemological Institute of India [GII] will be sponsoring and organising AGDRT 2025, a two-day symposium on ‘Advances in Gem & Diamond Research and Technology’ on the 22nd and 23rd of September. This symposium will explore innovations in gemology, diamond technology, lab research and more. Post this, BDB “Leadership Series” – Diamond & Jewellery conference will be held on 24th September 2025.
AGDRT will be attended by world-renowned scientists and speakers such as:
M.S. Ramachandra Rao from IIT Madras, Dr Wuyi Wang, GIA USA< Alexander Bulatov from RAS, Moscow, Russia, Dr. Padmanabh Rai from CEBC, Dr. Kasturi Saha, IIT Bengaluru, and Dr. Michael Mintrone, from SSEF, Switzerland and others whose work on research papers pertaining to the Industry has always been critical for progress. The Diamond and Jewellery conference on the 24th September aims to address the changing trajectory in regional buying patterns and consumer preferences, providing industry members with in-depth insights into various verticals disrupting the supply chain, including advancements in research, and innovative tech and machine tools. The ‘Leadership Series’ will include presentations and panel discussions by eminent speakers to help participants understand existing volatilities and navigate future challenges.
The Diamond and Jewellery conference on the 24th September will include the following speakers:
Tom Moses, Executive Vice President, and Head of Research and Development, GIA, will open the conference with a presentation on “Technological Advancements and its Positive Impact on the Industry,” focusing on diamond origin verification, grading, certification, and the latest from GIA education. Liang Weizang, Ex-President, Guangzhou Diamond Exchange, China, and now a Market Strategist having founded HubWis Jewellery Strategic Creations (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., will present on “Changing Business Landscape,” covering the importance and growth of ASEAN markets and the future growth path of the China Market.
A panel discussion on “Future Trends in Jewellery: India & Middle East” will feature Abdul Salam, Vice Chairman, Malabar Jewellery Group, Amit Pratihari, Managing Director, DeBeers India, and Pratap Kamath, MD, Abaran Timeless Jewellery Pvt Ltd. The speakers will discuss the future of jewelry manufacturing and retail, trend-setting designs, preferences between machine-made and handmade designs, and customer psychographics in the India and Middle East markets. The sessions will be moderated by Mrs. Nirupa Bhatt, Independent Director & Business Leadership Coach and Mr. Pranay Narvekar, Founder, Pharos Beam Consulting.
Mithun Sacheti, Founder Caratlane, will present his success story in “E Commerce: Opportunities and Challenges,” offering insights into growing an e-commerce vertical.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion titled “Natural & Lab Grown Diamonds, The Way Forward” featuring Olivia Landau, CEO and Founder, Clear Cut from the USA, and Ashish Pethe, Partner, Waman Hari Pethe, discussing the coexistence and future of Natural and Lab Grown diamonds. Participants from across the global as well as Indian gem and jewellery sector would be converging in Mumbai to witness a true transformation of the Industry.
