The global jewellery industry will converge in Hong Kong this September as Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong (JGW) returns with more than 3,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions, reinforcing its position as the world’s largest jewellery sourcing event ahead of the crucial year-end buying season.
Spanning seven days across AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the event will connect international buyers with suppliers across diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, finished jewellery, jewellery technology, packaging and design. Online pre-registration remains open until 6 September.
A Global Buying Destination for the Holiday Season
According to organisers Informa Markets, JGW remains one of the industry’s most important sourcing platforms, bringing together manufacturers, traders, designers and retailers before the global festive buying cycle.
Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs, said:
“The jewellery industry, like many sectors, is navigating a perfect storm of change: Geopolitical uncertainties, rising sustainability expectations, AI and digital innovation, the growth of social commerce and a younger generation discovering gemstones and jewellery on their own terms. JGW September draws everyone in the industry to make sense of it all − giving our community the connections and insights they need to turn these challenges into opportunities.”
Two Venues, Six Specialised Trade Shows
The exhibition will operate across two major venues, each dedicated to different segments of the jewellery value chain.
AsiaWorld-Expo (14–18 September)
AWE will focus on precious materials through three co-located fairs:
- Gemstones
- Diamonds & Fine Gems
- Pearls+
The venue will also feature several flagship attractions, including one of the world’s largest Diamond Pavilions, alongside the Fine Gem Pavilion, Gemstone Pavilion and Pearl Pavilion, showcasing suppliers of Akoya, South Sea, Tahitian and freshwater pearls, as well as rare ocean-born gems.
Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (16–20 September)
HKCEC will focus on finished jewellery, luxury collections, jewellery technology, packaging solutions and design-led creations through:
- Hong Kong
- International
- Fine Design
Visitors will also find the CORE Pavilion, Premier Pavilion, Fei Cui Gallery, Designer Arena, Antique & Vintage Jewellery and International Fine Jewellery sections.
AI-Powered Buyer Experience
Informa Markets has also introduced an AI-powered Exhibitor Finder, designed to help visitors discover suppliers through personalised recommendations and improve navigation across the extensive exhibition.
Why Scale Matters
Allen Xiang, General Manager for Jewellery, said:
“Scale matters, especially when the industry is under pressure. But JGW is not only about sourcing − it’s about discovery. We have brought together quality exhibitors, a product range that gives buyers real choice, attendees who come ready to do business and a city built for global trade − Hong Kong. When you put all that in one place, buyers don’t just find products − they find direction.”
Design, Talent and Coloured Gemstones Take the Spotlight
Beyond sourcing, JGW September will host several industry programmes celebrating creativity and emerging leadership.
The Gender-Fluid Coloured Gem Jewellery Design Challenge will honour winning student and professional designers, with winning student concepts being transformed into finished jewellery pieces.
The NextGen Coloured Gem Excellence Awards by JWA 2026 will recognise entrepreneurs and professionals aged 45 and below who are helping reshape the coloured gemstone industry through innovation, storytelling and customer engagement.
Meanwhile, GEM+ 2026 will bring together industry leaders to discuss social commerce, younger luxury consumers, succession planning and sustainability across the coloured gemstone sector.
Metal Innovation and Industry Insights
Returning after its successful debut, Sublime Shine 2.0 will showcase the artistry and technical mastery of metalsmithing through interactive exhibits and live demonstrations supported by the World Gold Council and Platinum Guild International.
JGW will also host a series of Knowledge Sessions, offering market analysis and practical business insights aimed at helping jewellery professionals navigate changing global market conditions.
Why It Matters for India
For India’s exporters, manufacturers and gemstone suppliers, JGW remains one of the most significant international sourcing platforms of the year.
With buyers from across global markets attending Hong Kong before the festive buying season, the exhibition continues to serve as an important opportunity for Indian businesses to showcase products, build international relationships and understand emerging trends that could influence jewellery demand through 2027.
