Celebrating Excellence at the 51st India Gem & Jewellery Awards

The 51st India Gem & Jewellery Awards, held in Jaipur, recognised the outstanding contributions of industry leaders while celebrating innovation, sustainability, and global excellence. The event reaffirmed India’s position as a global jewellery powerhouse and inspired the next generation of artisans and entrepreneurs

The 51st edition of the India Gem & Jewellery Awards (IGJA), organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), was held in Jaipur, showcasing the outstanding achievements of India’s gem and jewellery industry. The event brought together leaders from across the sector and celebrated innovation, sustainability, and excellence on a global scale. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani addressed the gathering, underlining the critical role of the gem and jewellery industry in shaping India’s economy and global reputation.

Driving Growth and Innovation

Shri Piyush Goyal commended the initiatives undertaken by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which have been instrumental in fostering growth and innovation. These include the establishment of dedicated gem and jewellery parks, reductions in import duties, and programmes such as “Make in India” and “Ease of Doing Business,” which aim to create an environment conducive to investment and sustainable development. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted Jaipur’s legacy as a hub of creativity and craftsmanship, praising the award winners for elevating the industry’s global standing and contributing significantly to India’s economic growth.

Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, emphasised the council’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and innovation, highlighting efforts such as MyKYCBank for regulatory compliance and the positive impact of recent trade agreements like CEPA.

Honouring the Industry’s Finest

The IGJA celebrated a diverse group of winners who have set benchmarks for excellence across the sector. Kiran Gems emerged as a significant winner. Renaissance Global was acknowledged for its exceptional silver jewellery, while Hari Krishna Exports received the award for being the “Most Socially Responsible Company.” Nancy Dhariwal was honoured as “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year,” reflecting the growing influence of women in this traditionally male-dominated industry.

Emerald Jewel Industry India, Dhanera Diamonds, and Kumbh Gems were also among those celebrated for their remarkable achievements. Other notable winners included Green Lab Diamonds for their work in lab-grown diamonds (highest export) and RMC Gems India in the cut and polished synthetic stones category. Cadas Gold and Diamonds and Ashok Jewels were recognised for their excellence in precious metal jewellery, while Amrapali Exports was celebrated for their innovative costume and fashion jewellery. Kiran Exports (Hong Kong) and Kiran Exports NV were also acknowledged for their contributions to the industry. A special Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Pramod Kumar Agrawal in recognition of his long-standing contributions to the gem and jewellery sector. Jewelone was acknowledged for its contributions to precious metal jewellery exports and Vaibhav Global was felicitated for its achievements in cut and polished coloured gemstones. Hasmukh Parekh was recognised for its contribution in precious metal jewellery exports.

The 51st IGJA reaffirmed India’s position as a global leader in the gem and jewellery industry. The event not only celebrated the achievements of industry stalwarts but also inspired the next generation of leaders and artisans to carry forward India’s rich legacy.
